Vol.1, Issue 3 - Looking Forward
The current season ends this weekend, and we're already looking ahead to the start of the new season.
Welcome to this week's newsletter. This will be another concise issue, so let's get stuck in.
2021-2022 SEASON PREPARATION CONTINUES
As the 2020-21 season comes to an end, the staff and volunteers at Barham FC are hard at work preparing for the new football season.
We have had confirmation that we will have teams in the Faversham & District Youth League, the East Kent Youth League and the South East Counties Women's League. We are still pursuing options for the men to play league football.
UNDER 15 YOUTH TEAM NEWS
THE BATTLE OF BRICKFIELD!
The Under 15s have one more game this season, and following last week's results, it will be the most crucial game of the season. We play Dover Rangers on Sunday morning.
Please, please, please come and support The Bears; Kick-Off is at 10.30 am. You will still be able to get home in time for the England V Croatia Euro 2020 match!
Thanks, Tony.
THE FA MATCHDAY APP
The FA’s official Matchday app has been developed specifically to automate everything around your football life, and we are now using this excellent service.

It’s often said that time is our most precious commodity. The main aim of Matchday is to save you time, so you can confidently enjoy the game you love, knowing your football life is sorted. Oh, and we forgot to tell you – it’s free!

Players/Parents - Checking If You Can Sign In
You can always check if you can log in to Matchday by attempting to log in to myaccount.thefa.com. Enter in your email and password and click sign in.
The app will then take you to your My Account page, which gives you lots of information about your FA data, including your name, DOB and all the teams you have given consent to.
For Parents/Guardians: you will be able to see all of your linked children on the My Account page, as well as all of the consent you've given to thee club. If you cannot see your child/ren on this page you need to ask the club to link you and that child together.
If you can sign in to My Account, then, as long as we have added you to a team correctly and you see the club in the consent section, you will be able to sign into Matchday with the same login details.
Players/Parents - Unable to Sign In
You may try to sign in to the Matchday app or myaccount.thefa.com and receive this error message:
As explained, please do visit grassrootstechnology.thefa.com or the myaccount.thefa.com page and click 'Sign in Using FAN'.
This will then take you through a process that will claim your FAN and email and make it unique so you will no longer have any duplicate accounts that share your email. A full breakdown of this process is here.
You can even access the 'Sign In Using FAN' flow directly from the app. Just select the corresponding option, and it'll take you through the same flow as you can access from nearly every FA login.
Please note, we will not be using the PayPal payments function. If you have any questions, please drop us a line or speak to your coach.
SUMMER FUN DAYS
Please make a note of the dates for our Summer Fun Days.
BARHAM FC TEAM’S PHOTOSHOOT
We want all club members that will be playing league football next season to join us at The Bear Trap on Saturday the 28th of August at 6 PM. We will be taking photos of all of the teams in their playing kits. We will publish further details later in the summer.
That’s about it for this week. Keep an eye open for next week’s newsletter which will feature details of upcoming youth football tournaments, friendlies and a season report for both the Under 13s and the Under 15s.
